Our medieval village of Chiusdino is nestled in the beautiful rolling hills of the Colline Metallifere – a region characterized by ancient, extinct volcanoes. This makes the surrounding landscape feel vast and harmonious – a beautiful place to experience Tuscany. Here, you will find plenty of nature, dense forests, and small, crystal-clear rivers.

Thanks to its elevation of 568 meters, it remains pleasantly cool even in the height of summer. The village itself sits atop a hill and is only a 10–15 minute walk from our house. In Chiusdino, you’ll find everything you need: bars, typical Tuscan restaurants, a pharmacy, a doctor, a bank, a gas station, and even an e-charging station. There is also a public water station where you can fill up with sparkling or still drinking water.

The medieval heart of the village invites you to explore its narrow streets and simply stroll through the alleys. In the summer, the village comes alive with many local events and a small open-air cultural program.

Every Thursday, a small market takes place in the central village square. Here, you can find fresh fruit and vegetables, fish, and clothing. It is a wonderful place to experience the local village life.

Durch die Höhenlage von 568 Metern ist es auch im Hochsommer angenehm kühl. Der Ort selbst liegt auf einem Hügel und ist von unserem Hof aus in etwa 10-15 Minuten zu Fuß erreichbar. In Chiusdino gibt es alles, was man so braucht: Bars, typisch toskanische Restaurants, eine Apotheke, einen Arzt, eine Bank, eine Tankstelle und sogar eine E-Tankstelle. Außerdem steht ein Trinkwasserspender bereit, an dem man sprudelndes oder stilles Wasser zapfen kann.

Der mittelalterliche Kern des Dörfchens lädt dazu ein, die schmalen Gassen zu erkunden und einfach durch das Dorf zu schlendern. Im Sommer ist hier ordentlich was los – es gibt viele Dorfveranstaltungen und ein kleines Kulturprogramm unter freiem Himmel.

Donnerstags findet auf dem zentralen Dorfplatz ein kleiner Markt statt. Hier gibt es frisches Obst und Gemüse, Fisch und auch Kleidung. Ein schöner Ort, um das Dorfleben mitzuerleben.
